What a year! It takes much longer to get over carbon
monoxide poisoning than I expected. I am just beginning to
have a normal level of energy. Another odd things is that my
hair is growing in dark! It looks like I dyed my hair and the
roots are growing back. I am reminded daily of how lucky I am.
I spent 11 days in classes in Arlington, VA. If all goes well with
my research that will be my last residency for the doctorate.
Bittersweet as I've made a lot of nice friends in the last two
years and we only see each other in person at the
residencies. However 11 days of studying until 1-2 AM to turn
around and get up the next morning at 5:30 was a bit much. I
was so tired when I got home that all I wanted to do was
sleep.
Herbie had other plans. He still does not sleep all night and he
is a bit of a wild man right now from staying at the kennel. We
were glad to see each other but I have to restart the training
again. I don't know when the growing will stop but he is
working hard at growing and chewing. I get him the strongest
chew stuff but except for the Nylabones, he chews through
everything in a half hour. I should have named him Jaws! He
is so determined to climb into my lap. He probably weighs
about 59 lbs. and that is way too big for a lap dog. I had to get
the rolled newspaper out again. I just wave it in the air and he
quits climbing into my lap. Even though I never hit him with it
he hates it. That cuts down on the scratches and bruises and
dumped books and pencils he leaves in his wake when he
tries to climb in my lap.
I am half way through the second session of summer school
and looking forward to the couple of weeks off from teaching
that I will have in August. Not a vacation though as I am taking
a class and working on my dissertation proposal as well.
Always something!
The heat wave out here is bad. Please be sure that you know
the signs of dehydration and that you take care of yourselves
by drinking enough water and staying out of the heat as much
as possible. This is a deadly heat wave. Don't leave your pets
or children in closed cars as they can die in minutes. I saw
someone had left 3 dogs in their car yesterday. They left the
windows all the way down but the dogs were seriously hot,
panting, and looking dazed. Luckily they came out of the store
as I was getting ready to call 911 for the dogs before they
passed out. Seconds in this heat can kill your pet.
Meditate on water images and floating on water, or in the sky.
That type of imagery helps to relieve the stress your body is
under. Scrub thoroughly with dark green light to get rid of the
extra stress you get from your body working so hard to keep
you cool.
Enjoy summer around the heat wave. Have a wonderful day!
